Karan Berry

Mr.Karan berry menjadi motivator yang telah menginspirasikan saya untuk lebih maju dari sebelumnya. Dia sangat detail dan sangat peduli, buktinya Disaat aku melakukan salah dia menegurku dengan lembut dan penuh kasih sayang. Membuatku ingin terus melakukan kesalahan karna merindukan keramahannya. Dia adalah sosok yang patut menjadi contoh dan aku ingin menjadi sosok tenang, ramah, sopan dan keren seperti dirinya.

Appointed General Manager for JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta
Jakarta (December, 2011) – “Marriott International appoints Karan Berry as General Manager for JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta to replace Nagesh Chawla who has taken up his new assignment at The Ritz‐Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan” said Robert Stark, Market Vice President for Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Karan arrived in Jakarta with a wealth of experiences, as this will be his fourth General Manager appointment. His most recent position was leading the team as General Manager at the Courtyard Marriott in Chennai, India since 2008 when he joined the company. Prior to that, Karan has worked several years with properties under The Oberoi Group and Marriott International. Karan graduated from Delhi University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and earned his post graduate diploma in Hotel Management by 1996. He has received multiple awards since joining Marriott International in 2008 including the Service Excellence General Manager of the Year award in 2010.
Karan Berry is an industry veteran with 17 years of experience in the Indian hospitality sector, who is recognized for his professionalism and a leader in driving revenue,
developing talent, improving profitability and enhancing product and services for his hotel. After his post graduation in Hotel management, Karan started his career with The Oberoi Group of Hotels. He has had successful stints at some the most popular and coveted Oberoi properties such as The Oberoi Raj Vilas at Rajasthan, The Oberoi at Mumbai and Shimla etc. With priceless experiences and knowledge under his hospitality belt, he is now part of the Marriott family.
Karan is a staunch believer of the Marriott culture and the company’s core values of ‘Spirit to Serve”. This had lead the hotel to win many prestigious awards which includes the Alice S. Marriott Award for Community Service 2011, Community Service Hotel of the year – 2010, Service Excellence General Manager of the year – 2010 to name a few. A natural leader, he believes in nurturing the true potential of his team and is a constant source of encouragement and motivation for his associates.
Out of the hotel, Karan is a keen traveler who loves to discover new locales with his family. He believes that traveling with family is an ideal way to relax and unwind. This why you’ll always find him spending his free time with his wife and daughter.
